Orchid Harbor is a charming house located in one of Maine’s beautiful coastal areas. There was lots of room inside and out for our use. It was very comfortably furnished and had many touches that harkened back to days gone by. (I discovered a stack of old magazines, many of which were Women’s Day and were published in the 1940s and 50s and cost a whopping 2 cents!) The spacious lawn in front was right on the edge of the water and with picnic tables and plenty of chairs provided, was a wonderful place to enjoy it. A beautiful secluded back lawn with tables and chairs, fire pit and grill was a welcome surprise. We loved every minute of our stay.

Arriving at Orchid Harbor and taking in the view, sound, and smell of the ocean across the lawn makes all of the daily stresses of the mainland melt away. The century old house is charming, welcoming, and comforting. It feels like you are staying with good friends or family. With all of the living spaces, it feels roomy and cozy at the same time and wraps around you like a hug. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The backyard is not fenced, but is surrounded by hedges which gives some privacy without covering up the natural beauty surrounding the home. Adirondack chairs in the backyard and on the lawn in front are the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or your evening cocktail.Check in and check out procedures are easy and straightforward, and the hosts are responsive and friendly.

Lovely property, close to what we needed and wanted, host communicated promptly. Would definitely stay there again.

4 adults (50), Mon-Fri stay. Great location within easy walking distance ( 0.5 miles) of two popular (touristy) restaurants. The waterfront lot across the quiet road had great views of the working harbor and sunsets. Very clean older home with a few additions over time that had private places for quiet reading or just watching life in the harbor. Bedrooms are upstairs in the main rental, please note these are steep stairs - doable, but slightly challenging when carrying things up/down.

We (8 adults) had a wonderful long weekend. We especially enjoyed the grassy lot across the road. Coffee in the morning, croquet , lunch on the picnic table and sunset by the fire pit. Perfect.
